MONTHLY PROGRAMS

Solanco Historical Society offers free programs on the third Saturday of each month, except in May and December, at its meeting room at 1932 Robert Fulton Highway, Fulton Township, 6 miles south of Quarryville, PA.  The educational and informative presentations are provided by historians, collectors, teachers, authors and researchers.  Meetings begin at 1:30 p.m. You’re welcome to join us!

SPECIAL EVENT - CIVIL WAR LIVING HISTORY ENCAMPMENT

Hours:  Friday, May 16th - 12 Noon to 4:00 P.M., Saturday, May 17th - 10:00 A.M. to 8:00 P.M., and Sunday, May 18th - 10:00 A.M. to 3:00 P.M.

Friday is homeschool day.

Tours of the camp, photos and conversations with the military participants will be available.

Tactical demonstrations, battle reenactments, firearms and artillery demonstrations, including a Gatling gun, will be given.

Additionally, Civil War-era medicine, a mortician, blacksmith, cavalry horses are typical demonstrations. 

A food vendor will be available all three days.  Restrooms are available on-site. 

Cost:  Admission is free but donations are accepted.  Parking fee is $1.00 per vehicle. 

There is a charge for tours of the Robert Fulton Birthplace: $5 per adult, $3 per youth (or 2 for $5).  Birthplace tours will be available from noon to 4:00 P.M. on Friday and  10:00 A.M. to 4:00 P.M.  Saturday and Sunday.

Please Note:  Access to the grounds will be via Swift Road, off Robert Fulton Highway (State Rt. 222).  See Google Maps for location and directions.
